Kathmandu, 15 October : Former speaker of the House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara is to be presented before Kathmandu District Court today.
Police will be presented Mahara before the court to extend the remand for further investigation.
Mahara was arrested from his official residence in Baluwatar on October 6 after Kathmandu District Court issued an arrest warrant against him for allegedly raping a female employee at Parliament Secretariat.
Roshani Shahi, a victim, had lodged a complaint with the police against Mahara for attempting to rape her. Mahara had resigned from the post following the accusation on moral ground.
Police will be seeking an extension of the custody as they are yet to conclude the investigation. A case will be filed only after the conclusion of the investigation process.
